Hardness Testing

Steel hardness is related to tensile strength and is often measured as Rockwell hardness or as Brinell hardness. TPT is equipped with a stationary Rockwell hardness tester for applications within our laboratory as well as with a field Brinell hardness tester and an Eco Tip hardness tester for field readings of either Rockwell hardness or Brinell hardness. Hardness testing can be used to evaluate manufacturer specifications for metals or can be used to evaluate metallurgical changes caused by welding.
